There are so many teachers within the Oxinity community coming from all over the world that I wanted to share my experience coming from New York City. I was born and raised in Brooklyn and this past year decided that I wanted to make a huge change in my life. I've visited many countries in Europe but the one place that always felt like home was Barcelona. I went on vacation in July of 2018 and a week after coming back home I decided that it was officially time to make the change. A month later I was moving into my new apartment, or flat as Europeans call it, and started my TEFL course. The following month I was certified and began my journey as a teacher.
Moving From New York City to Barcelona

Coming from a place like NYC where there are so many different people from different backgrounds it made it an easy and exciting transition for me to become a teacher. I was thrilled to be able to help anyone wanting to learn English. It's an extremely gratifying experience knowing there is someone who needs to learn the language for work or for school and provide them with the help they need. This is one of the biggest reasons why I decided to teach when I moved to Barcelona.
I always want my students to not feel like learning a new language is a daunting task. I want them to feel that it's a fun and interactive experience and to gain new vocabulary and grammar knowledge with each lesson.
Six months ago I never expected to become an English teacher and be part of the Oxinity community but it's one of the best decisions I've made. I want all my students to know how much I enjoy being able to teach them a new language and share this experience with them.
