No costs involved.
Here in Spain we have an interesting situation. 99% of students in primary and secondary schools study English. Spain is one of the countries with the most English language certifications per capita.
Learners spend an average of 12-15 years studying English, but 9 out of 10 cannot follow a film or series in English without subtitles. They lack confidence and fluency when having to face real communicative situations.
Current solutions -learning at school, attending extracurricular language classes or 1-to-1 tutoring- have proven inefficient in the majority of cases.
We need to identify the problem and provide a solution.
Teachers, individually, cannot do that. But if we collaborate, we can change the paradigms in education!
Over the past years, English teachers have lost purchasing power by more than 60%. The Internet and marketplaces have made connections between teachers and students easier than ever, but also the huge concentrations of offers in the same places (marketplaces) have provoked prices to drop down for teachers.
If working for a language school, teachers are seen as a cost, the lower the better.
Students, on the other hand, have the leverage to negotiate prices and although they acknowledge that their teachers deserve better, they can’t afford to pay for high quality classes.
How can we, as teachers, reconcile our need to earn better with what students can afford paying?
Teachers, individually, cannot deal with that. But if we collaborate, we can change the current business models!
In our Friday talks we bring all ideas together. We listen to teachers' needs and we offer solutions.
We have great ideas and tools to improve quality and we can offer a profound market analysis that can change your vision about growth.
You no longer have to face everything alone.
If we collaborate, we can change the world!
If you want your voice to be heard and most, importantly, if you want to learn about feasible alternatives, these talks are for you.
