We tend to use phrases like "look", "be like" and "look like" to describe people or things. But each have their own meaning and way of expressing.

▷ Look
- When we use the word "look" to describe someones emotions or physical state, we follow the verb with an adjective. We can do this both in a positive way as well as a negative way.
She looks sad.
More examples:
He looks excited.
You look really tired.
I look awful today.
She looks exhausted today.
- To use in the negative form we use words like don't & doesn't.
She doesn't look sad.
He doesn't look excited.
You don't look really tired.
I don't look awful today.
- Lastly, we can use look in the present tense by adding "ing". So look becomes looking.
She's looking really good lately.
You're looking tired this week.
He's looking really stressed out.
He's looking really handsome lately.
▷ Be Like
We use "be like" to talk about similarities between people in many different ways. It could be physically or similar characteristics.
Remember to change “be” to the correct form of the verb.
I'm like my mother, always cooking.
More examples:
My brother is like my dad.
David is like his brother.
She's like her sister.
My dad is just like my grandfather.
You can add other words between the verb and like.

a lot - really - very - just - a bit - quite
I'm alot like my mother.
My brother is really like my dad.
David is a bit like his brother.

▷ Look Like
We use "look like" when comparing 2 people, physically speaking.
My dog looks like Albert Einstein,

I look like my sister.
You look like your father.
He looks like his uncle.
She looks so much like her mother.
My dad looks just like my grandfather.
