The Great Escape

Finding the courage to take a break from your life and spend time travelling by yourself can be daunting, but it could do wonders for your body and your mind. It is not a decision to make gently. You may begin to doubt your decision because of a mixed reaction from your friends and family. But remember, it does not matter what anyone else thinks. If you want to do it, do it. Stop dreaming about travelling. Make it a reality.

Use the time to relax and reconnect with yourself or someone else in your life. It could give you the chance to appreciate what you have, what you want to achieve, and focus on your well-being. Give your eyes a rest and your brain a break. Having the time to immerse yourself in the enlightenment of a country, gaining an insight into its people’s values, can be extremely rewarding. Travelling alone can increase your confidence, make you more independent, and help you become self-sufficient and self-reliant. Being on your own also encourages you to make new acquaintances, be it a local or another traveller looking for a companion.

A way to achieve this is to book extended breaks with dedicated travel companies and avoid the generic ones.
