Teaching vocabulary to kids in Barcelona. Memory game for all age levels.

Memory is a great game to play when you want to revise vocabulary in an entertaining way.

So far I have created cards to revise body parts, clothes, and house chores, as I´ve been teaching this vocabulary in the past few weeks in most of my classes with kids. But with little creativity, you can make cards to teach any kind of vocabulary. The game requires observation, concentration and a good memory to win, yet it is very easy to play - even for the youngest learners.

  1. The goal is to collect the most pairs of cards.
  2. Lay the cards on the table, face down, in rows.
  3. You can play with your student to make it competitive if you want.
  4. On each turn, a player turns over any two cards (one at a time) and keeps them if the cards match
  5. If they match a pair they get to keep the cards, and that player gets another turn.
  6. When a player turns over two cards that do not match, those cards are turned face down again (in the same position) and it becomes the next player’s turn.
  7. The trick is to remember which cards are where.
  8. The person with the most pairs at the end of the game wins.
